Studio Humbaba is a development studio founded by Areej Mahmoud (Filmmaker & Artist). Studio Humbaba develops and produces audio visual projects that represent the cultural diversity of the middle east and its diaspora and address cultural questions and notions of identity, environment, immigration, sustainability, and mental well- being.

Studio Humbaba develops films, series, branded entertainment, videos, picture books, graphic novels, printed matter... any product that can tell a story. Our practice relies on a deeply rooted respect for craft and experimentation, founded on our experience in design, filmmaking, communication, and product & brand development. We collaborate with artists, filmmakers, producers, and writers from across the Middle East, Canada and the world to bring compelling and engaging stories to life.
